This brief essay is the first of a series in which I plan to set forth  a mythic approach to living in a clear and  simple manner. The last thing I want, however,  is to encourage an easy or naive approach to myth. Thus in many ways such an endeavor requires more rigor, as in a musical solo, where there is no orchestra of complexty to obscure the imperfections.
